She was a pretty active young girl as she would keep herself busy most of the day either reading her books or racing around the backyard with the family dog or spending time with her gal pals at camp but every now and then she would wander into the house, yell MOM!? Dad!? and then proceed to run up to us-give a kiss on the cheek and whisper...I love You and then race away with a smile from ear to ear as she went back to what she was doing.
Our Daughter loved the beach and always like to run along the waterline as the waves would crash on the shore.
Even trips to her  most favorite place on the planet brought more joy then most anything else in her life and she seemed to have found a inner peace that I think has to do with her friends and the bible camp she attended more times then not.
I think it was on a Tuesday that I received the phone call from our family doctor telling me that some tests had to be done on our Daughter but it was just a routine and nothing to fear.
Somehow life took a turn for the worst as one test went into another and before we knew it our Daughter was struck down with something so heartbreaking and painful that I don't think we even thought about anything else for a very long time.
Minutes seemed like days and hours seemed like months and the more we tried to understand the more we saw no hope insight and the fear of not knowing grew into desperation but through all of this craziness was a shred of light-a rather calm peace that confused us even more.
Our Daughter was just living her life and yet she clung to the fact the God would somehow bring a miracle to our family.
A miracle would come she would say with her small frail voice-God says everything will be ok in the long run....everything will be ok...you.,ll see

Creating the song/the musicians behind the Glimmer

When Nathan Creek founder/musician Patrick Booth started writing the lyrics for the song "The Glimmer" he had no idea that the song would have  such a huge heart.
I had written the music back in 2004-the basic tracks were all I had.
Being a studio musician working in my own studio I was able to record piano and drums.
The song then sat around for about 2 1/2 years or so without lyrics.
The song was pegged The Glimmer from day one as I had a story in my head about a young girl who was stricken with this aweful disease but I didn't want to write a song that ended on a tragic note and what was interesting was I was hearing stories about everyday folks dealing with this very subject and telling stories of miracles.
2006 brought about the main tracks for the song and lyrics came shortly after-I recorded Piano, guitars and drums which brought about a great change in the feel of the song but before we even got someone to sing the song I sent the tracks off to Derek Close who is a skilled bass player and frequent guest musician on Nathan Creek projects since 1997 so Derek had a idea of what may becoming his way.
After the main tracks were recorded, Derek & myself went over the lyrics I had written for the song & after some lyrical tweaking we had finalized the song as a whole.
All we needed was someone to pull off vocals and interesting enough I had found someone to bring the powerful words to life-my wife Mary.
Mary came into the project rather reluctant because she felt that she wasn't the right voice for the song but I can say without a shadow of doubt-the song has a breath of honesty and conviction.

We at Nathan Creek and those who put a lot of time and effort into this song present to you the Glimmer.
